This is a pre-Columbian ritual and utilitarian piece that has historically been used to burn herbs, resins, and/or charcoal, producing smoke to energetically cleanse spaces or for ceremonial ritual purposes.
Luisa Lemus is a Guatemalan artist and founder of the project “Latido de Toj” (IG: latidodetoj_ceramica), which focuses on creating ceramic pieces that recover manual and ancestral techniques from Abya Yala, integrating a respectful use of the earth and its elements.
