Andrea Aragón

I am a photographer and visual artist. Photography opened the doors to an unknown world for me, full of fascinating people and places. Since then, I have used my camera to make visible what I believe needs to be seen and reflected upon. My work addresses themes such as childhood on the streets, sex work, terminal illnesses, migration, urban subcultures, and the obsession with beauty in Guatemala. I have exhibited my work in solo and group exhibitions, and it has been published in art magazines and books both in Guatemala and abroad. In 2007, El Pensativo published my book "Guatemala de mis dolors." Recently, my collaboration with Utopía has expanded my creative universe, allowing me to explore new expressions that complement my photography. My goal is to tell stories that provoke reflection and generate impact.

I am a visual artist, plain and simple. With no other virtue than simply being myself, I don't claim any audacity or discoveries. I only engrave, paint, draw, or imagine what I feel, and I don't want to stop doing what my heart tells me to do. I embrace Utopia as a place of convergence, where small joys, dreams, and even failures are shared.
